2024 is our fifth Woodland Holiday Club. It will run for

​

16 SPACES AVAILABLE PER SESSION. the group sizes are small make sure everyone gets the attention they deserve

​

Sessions last for 6 hours (9.30am to 3.30pm). Fantastic value at £30 per child, £25 per sibling.

Plus £10 if you child would like a wild passport book to record their skills

Summer dates 8th, 9th and 22nd August 2024

​

Drinks and fresh fruit snacks are provided in all sessions.

​

The club is for children from 5 to 15 years of age

​

 

 

What to expect. Each day will be different and led by children’s interests. We will play games, learn about nature and how to ID it, learn how to use tools safely, use tools to craft items, learn to light and maintain fires, cook some tasty snacks, sing songs, make friends and more. We may vary our plan depending on the children’s interests.

 

Who with? The club is run by Jenna Benson, Lisa Jones and team. Jenna and Lisa are  qualified Level 3 Forest School practitioners, have DBS clearance and are qualified in outdoor first aid. 

 

Jenna has worked in the outdoors for the last 10 years,

Lisa has a lot of experience in early years.

The rest of the team are fully trained forest schools leaders with their own unique skills. Michelle, and Abby

Needs, allergies and SEND requirements?

Please contact us before booking if your child has SEND requirements, medical needs or allergies. rootstobranchesfs@gmail.com

What to bring?

- Wear suitable outdoor clothes (including grown ups), must have long sleeves and long legs even in hot weather, it protects against stings, bites and scrapes.

- full shoes or wellies, if it has been wet the field we walk through to the woodland will be wet and no one likes wet feet. The woodland is mainly dry even after rainfall. (Grown ups included)

- Any medication, inhalers etc. Labelled with you name.

- Waterproofs, spare top and trousers, insect repellent, sun cream are also great to have.

- Packed lunch, including a drink/water bottle. No nut products please.

The sessions goes ahead in all weathers (with exceptions for dangerous conditions) so be prepared.

 

Location. Drop off and collection will be at our meeting point outside Lucas Flash woodland

Roots to Branches is insured with Birnbeck Finance Ltd and has public liability insurance underwritten by SAUA Ltd.

 

Cancellation and Postponement

-In the case of extreme weather and no suitable alternative venue being available Roots to Branches may need to cancel sessions at short notice. We will do all in our power to find an alternative venue for our holiday club session in this scenario.

-In the case of Roots to Branches staff ill-health every effort will be made to seek replacement staff or to reschedule. Where this is not possible a refund will be offered.

-Where individuals cannot make the session a refund can be offered with a week’s notice. Otherwise sessions will not be refunded, unless your space can be filled by another participant. A lot of the time there is a waiting list so we can normally accommodate most changes if we receive at least 48 hours notice.
